Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. Her work has been recognized for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. She won several awards like an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The successful actress began her career as an actor by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. From her early years she's been passionate about acting. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. In the fifth grade, after having mumps she lost her hearing in her left ear. She did not let that stop her. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. In a chance encounter she became trapped in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that became Hunter's debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get film roles. An supporting role was secured in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in a variety of TV films, films and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
